Due to special circumstances, Filmambiente 2017 was not held as usual, one week presenting short and feature films in competition. Instead, we had special screenings, followed by debates, along the months of September, October and November.

Documentary directed by well-known Spanish journalist and television presenter Jordi Évole, tells the awe-inspiring story of a luxury sailboat converted into a sea rescue boat for refugees trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea in search of a better future in the European continent.

Documentary about the unsuccessful Henry Ford’s attempt to establish a rubber plantation along the Tapajó River, in the Amazon, in 1927; the transition to the successful soy plantation for exportation in the region, and the reflections to forest preservation.
The screening will be followed by a debate with the director, and the specialists in Amazon: Professor Marcus Barros and the journalist Lúcio Flávio Pinto.
