DEBATES

In the 14th edition of Filmambiente, 3 films from the program will be the inspiration for the discussion of important and current themes in Brazil and around the world.

MODERN COLONIALISM AND ITS CONSEQUENCES

Direction: Kamikia Kisedje e Fred Rahal

The invasion of preserved Indigenous lands, with the resulting soil contamination, whether through illegal mining or the indiscriminate use of pesticides and their dire consequences. Panel featuring directors Kamikia Kisedje and Fred Nahal.
RESTORATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
The urgent need to combat climate change requires the restoration of landscapes and ecosystems as a tool to conserve biodiversity and promote human and social development. It is important to understand and value initiatives that promote responsible land use, such as agroforestry, responsible food production, as in the Landless Workers' Movement, and reforestation, which must combine environmental restoration with the real needs of land occupants. Bruna Giuliatti, co-writer and producer of Mãos à Terra, will be present in this panel.
RIGHT TO A RESILIENT CITY
Constant gentrification, the abandonment of some neighborhoods to their fate, insecurity, the shortage of affordable housing, and other chronic problems common to Brazilian cities result, among other consequences, in the expansion of the homeless population, the abandonment of properties, and the growing Homeless Movement. This panel will feature the film's director of photography, Leonardo Maestrelli.
