The 15th edition of Filmambiente is around the corner!!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

From September 23rd to October 2nd, 2026, Rio de Janeiro will host the best and most awarded Brazilian and international films; documentaries, animations, fiction films in live screenings, many with the presence of their filmmakers to Q&As after presentations. There will also be Debates with experts, Master Classes, Special Screenings for children, young people, and people with disabilities and in vulnerable situations. And online screenings (geo-blocked to Brazil).<\/b><\/p>

On JANUARY 5th, SUBMISSIONS for the 15th edition of Filmambiente will be open for the following categories: Brazilian Documentary Feature film (over 60 min), International Documentary Feature Film (over 60 min), Animation and Fiction Shorts, and Documentary Shorts (up to 20 min).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

To participate in the competitive sections, films must have been produced within the last 2 years; for the non-competitive screenings, films can have any duration and production date.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Submissions are open UNTIL MAY 10th, and the selected films will be revealed on our social media starting June 30th.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Every year the number of excellent films we receive is overwhelming, but unfortunately we cannot program them all.<\/b><\/p>

But all submissions will receive a feedback on their status, and the production team will contact only selected films.<\/b><\/p>
