The period from now to 2030 is also identified by scientists as the limit in the timeline for putting in practice measures to avoid catastrophic climate change. Therefore, the Decade is the last appeal to the participation of all, at all scales. The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the Decade after a proposal of action from more than 70 countries, from all latitudes.<\/span><\/p><p>The Decade was launched on the last Environment Day (5th of June), and besides stimulating changes in social behaviour towards ecosystems, it aims to mobilize a large number of investments in research and in restoration projects in diverse regions of the planet.<\/p><p>This panel will try to answer questions such as:<\/p><p><strong><em>What is the current panorama in Brazil and in the world concerning ecosystem degradation? <\/em><\/strong><\/p><p><em><strong>What are the processes used in restoration projects?<\/strong> <\/em><\/p><p><strong><em>And what are the projects already in place within the scope of the Decade, in different ecosystems? <\/em><\/strong><\/p><p><strong><em>And how can one collaborate with the global effort? She is an adjunct researcher at the Amazon Institute of People and the Environment (Imazon), where she works on municipal environmental management and forest restoration research.
